Summer in Gujarat is a tough season, lasting from May to June. Temperatures are unforgiving, hovering between 29°C and 43°C. Things To Carry When Visiting Statue of Unity
You will be asked to show your ticket at multiple points during your Visit to the Statue of Unity and nearby attractions. So it’s best to keep a Printout of Tickets handy, or at least a soft copy on your phone.
The Statue of Unity offers a beautiful location for photography and videography with amazing scenery and photo booths. So be sure to carry your professional camera and take back memories for a lifetime when you Visit the Statue of Unity!
When visiting the Statue of Unity you may leave your hotel room early and come back late at night. So to ensure your phone, camera, or other electronics have ample battery to keep working through the day, we advise carrying a fully charged power bank when you visit the Statue of Unity.
If you’re visiting the Statue of Unity in Summer, it’s expected to get quite hot during the day. Buses have an air conditioning facility. But it’s advisable to carry as much sun protection as possible, including electrolytes to protect against dehydration.
If you want to spend an entire day visiting the Statue of Unity and also it’s nearby attractions, We highly suggest you and everyone in your group wear your most comfortable pair of shoes. Also as the weather for most of the year at the Statue of Unity can be hot and humid, it’s always a good idea to carry an extra shirt or t-shirt to freshen up during the day if needed.
In the Premises of the Statue of Unity, you can not carry a filled water bottle. So you need to carry an empty water bottle. There is a free drinking water stall where you can fill up your bottle. Also they offer you a water bottle for 50-70 Rs.
Things Not To Carry When Visiting Statue of Unity
Outside food items are not allowed within the Statue of Unity monument complex. So if you’re carrying food, you’ll have to leave it in the car. There is however a Food Court Available Within the Statue of Unity complex offering a range of global and local fast food outlets.
Drone Camera is not allowed within the Statue of Unity monument complex and at the Nearby Attractions of the Statue of Unity.
Pet Animals are not allowed within the Statue of Unity monument complex and at the Nearby Attractions of the Statue of Unity.
There are ample places to purchase cold drinking water at MRP within the monument complex and nearby attractions. There are also ample places where you can refill cold drinking water for free. So there is no need to carry lots of water bottles with you from your hotel, other than what you may need on the car ride to the Statue of Unity.
Similar to bags and helmets, you may not be allowed to carry any kind of tobacco product, matches, or lighter within the Statue of Unity monument complex. You’ll have to leave them in your car, taxi, bike, or at the luggage counter.
Any type of Inflammable Objects is not allowed within the Statue of Unity monument complex and at the Nearby Attractions of the Statue of Unity.

If you’re carrying a suitcase, a large bag, or helmet to the Statue of Unity, you’ll have to leave it in your car, taxi. Or you can deposit it at the luggage counter, located at the entrance of the Statue of Unity monument complex.

In order to ensure a safe visit for all of our visitors, The following security measures have been implemented:
- Security Screening Process
- Visitors to the Statue of Unity must pass through primary and/or secondary security screening, similar to the Indian airport security procedures, prior to entry at the site. We recommend that visitors should factor in the time to go through the security procedures.
- Please note that there are no locker storage areas at the screening facility.
- Only cameras, handbags, and small personal items are permitted.
- All visitors should keep bags, packages, stroller’s etc. in lockers available at Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan or keep it in their vehicles
Prohibited Items:
All weapons, including firearms, knives (including pocket knives and penknives), mace (or pepper spray), any dangerous items, and any “dual-use” items that could compromise public safety and security are strictly prohibited in the Statue. Scissors, sharp instruments, and tools are prohibited. Do not carry any of these types of items into the security screening area. Items that are confiscated will not be returned. If you are unsure about an item, please do not carry it.
- Large packages, suitcases, carry-on luggage and other large parcels will not be permitted inside SoU and in lockers.
- First aid kit is available near Ticket Counter.
- Pets are not allowed inside the SoU Complex.
- Although the premise has adequate security we recommend visitors to undertake necessary precautions during the visit.
- Report any suspicious activity or behaviour you may see at the site.
- Alcohol and drugs are prohibited on the site.
